ABOUT

Design inspired by extremes—made for everyday living.

EN

We design spaces that do more:
clearly structured, efficiently used,
and reduced to what matters.

Our work translates insights from extreme environments
into everyday architecture—
creating solutions that are thoughtful, lasting,
and feel right.

DE

Wir gestalten Räume, die mehr können:
klar strukturiert, effizient genutzt
und auf das Wesentliche reduziert.

Unsere Arbeit verbindet Erkenntnisse aus extremen Umgebungen
mit den Anforderungen des Alltags –
für durchdachte Lösungen, die langfristig funktionieren
und sich gut anfühlen.

What we do

We design thoughtful, functional spaces
that improve everyday living
and stand the test of time.

Our work focuses on clarity,
efficient use of space,
and high-quality, sustainable materials.

Every project is tailored to the people who use it—their needs, their lifestyle, and the existing context.

Services:
Renovation · Interior Design · Space Design · Compact Architecture · Adaptive Spaces

Was wir machen

Sandra Häuplik-Meusburger is an architect, researcher, and educator specializing in space architecture and the design of human habitats in extreme environments. Her work focuses on compact habitability solutions, integrating sustainable, modular, and adaptable architectural strategies with a strong emphasis on human-centered design. This often involves rethinking and reconfiguring existing spatial and environmental conditions to support long-term human well-being.

Based at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), she is actively engaged in research and teaching in building construction and design. She leads and contributes to space architecture design studios at universities across Europe, the United States, and Asia, fostering interdisciplinary approaches to future habitats on Earth and beyond.

She serves as Academic Director of the Executive MBA in Space Architecture & Management at TU Wien and leads the Space course at the Science Academy Niederösterreich. Her work bridges academia, industry, and international collaboration, with a focus on habitability in isolated and confined environments, modular systems, and life cycle sustainability.

Sandra Häuplik-Meusburger is an Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and currently serves as Chair of the IAA History Committee. She is a former Chair of the Space Architecture Technical Committee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and of the Space Habitats Committee of the International Astronautical Federation. She also contributes to the academic community through editorial roles, including Acta Astronautica.

Her key publications include the books Architecture for Astronauts – An Activity-Based Approach (Springer, 2011), Space Architecture Education for Engineers and Architects – Designing and Planning Beyond Earth (Springer, 2016; 2nd ed. 2026), Space Habitats and Habitability – Designing for Isolated and Confined Environments on Earth and in Space (Springer, 2021), and Weltraum – Extreme Lebensräume und deren Bewohnbarkeit (Springer, 2025).
